Start with welding basics, safety procedures, and equipment setup.

Learn overhead Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and prep for American Welding Society qualification.

Explore Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), and creating smooth, flawless welds.

Focus on Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), concentrating on carbon arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc cutting.

About Centura

Founded in 1969, Centura College specializes in preparing graduates for a wide variety of career opportunities. There are three Centura campuses in the Tidewater Virginia area, located in Chesapeake, Newport News and Norfolk.

The Combination Welding Program is offered at Centura’s Newport News campus, which features a 32,000-square-foot facility with computer labs, lecture halls, computer labs and specialized labs for hands-on training. Not all programs available at all locations.
