Prepare yourself with in-depth instruction.

Start with electron theory, magnetism, Ohm’s law, power distribution controls and the operation and use of safety controls.

Explore comfort and psychometrics, the properties, characteristics and measurement of air, plus air distribution and mixes.

Learn the theory and components of reverse-cycle heat pumps, and prepare for the EPA Section 608 certification exam.

Study proper troubleshooting techniques, residential AC units,commercial refrigeration and various components.

About Centura

Founded in 1969, Centura College specializes in preparing graduates for a wide variety of career opportunities. There are three Centura campuses in the Tidewater Virginia area, located in Chesapeake, Newport News and Norfolk.

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Program is offered at Centura’s Newport News campus, which features a 32,000-square-foot facility with computer labs, lecture halls, computer labs and specialized labs for hands-on training. Not all programs available at all locations.
